Welcome to UNIMAS FENG DiGi Deep Green: Challenge for Change Blog!

Hello! Welcome to UNIMAS FENG blog!

If you are searching for UNIMAS’s Faculty of Engineering website or to check your final year exam results, I think you went to the wrong place. This is blog is mainly about UNIMAS FENG, one of the DiGi Deep Green: Challenge for Change finalists.

It seems that reading a long, filled with thousands of words is quite boring right? Let me explain to you what is this “DiGi Deep Green: Challenge for Change” and stuffs in Q&A style. It is better right?

What is this “DiGi Deep Green: Challenge for Change” actually?

DiGi Deep Green: Challenge for Change is a competition organized by DiGi, whereby its target is to develop renewable energy solutions for underserved communities in Malaysia.

For the first round, there are 15 teams participating, coming from 8 universities all over Malaysia. And luckily, we passed the first round and now we are one of the 6 finalists! (I think the word luckily is not appropriate, because we were not just depending on luck, we tried our best to prepare good, jaw-dropping solutions for the juries :P)

Oh okay. So who are you guys? It seems that never seen you guys in the faculty.

Oh. We are very low-profile. No wonder you never see us.

Our team consists of 8 final year students. 6 of us are from Civil Engineering Department, and another 2 comes from Electronic and Computer Department.

Why UNIMAS FENG? I think there are lots of better names compared to this one.

Actually, we are considering some “Green” names as we are participating in renewable energy competition. So we agree to choose Green Lantern---NOT!

It is actually a last minute name. We are proud of our faculty... that is why we are proposing that name!

Why blog? Want to show off ka?

*AHEM* Nope. This blog is not for show-off or anything; it works like a medium for us and our Mentors so that both parties will keep up-to-date accordingly.

According to the C4C Overview and Terms of Participation:

“Each team will be required to set up a blog or website to document the development of their projects. Finalists must report their project progress on a regular basis through their blog or website. Reporting must be done a minimum of once every week. There must be Advisor endorsement of the team’s weekly updates.”

Erm...update every week ha? Adeh.

What is a Mentor?

Mentor(s) are the professionals from the industry; the one who will guide us along this competition. There advise and guidance (not forgetting our Team Advisors) needed so that we can produce something that can be proud of. (I am out of words actually)

Our mentors are:

Project Management Expert: Mr Wan Ezrin Sazli bin Wan Zahari
Marketing Sifuu: Mr Alan Khi
Technical Guru: Mr Quirinus Abel

I think this is enough for the time being. Any questions? Do not hesitate to ask us... just drop those questions on the comment box below and we will try to answer them. Do not ask some technical stuffs like who is the most handsome guy among us---it will take some time to answer it. Technical bah.
